Jenny Black (she/her) is a seasoned child, teen, and family therapist with over two decades of experience helping young people navigate anxiety, OCD, mood challenges, and life transitions. With a deep understanding of child development and family systems, she is passionate about providing personalized, evidence-based care that fosters resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being.

Jenny holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from the University of California, Davis, and a Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work.

Jenny’s expertise includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, allowing her to tailor therapy to each child’s unique strengths and challenges. She also works closely with parents, helping them develop effective strategies to support their child’s growth both in and out of the therapy room.

Before joining Raising Brave Kids, Jenny worked in hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, and private practice, giving her a well-rounded perspective on mental health care across different settings. She has served as a clinical supervisor, multidisciplinary team collaborator, and client advocate, ensuring families receive the support they need at every stage of their journey.

Recently relocated to Portland, OR, from Madison, WI, Jenny is excited to connect with families in her new community. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, exploring the outdoors, practicing Pilates, discovering local art, and curling up with a great book and a perfect cup of coffee.
